⠀ ⠀ ⠀ It can be challenging to come up with proper vegetarian main courses in an italian kitchen. ⠀ Our french owner and chef found an italian camembert made of buffalo milk in Italy, that's where France and Italy, for once, could compromise on that creamy and tasty cheese. ⠀ (Yeah, we know, we are food nerds…)
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ "Why is it black?" We use squid ink, which brings a tasty, fishy taste to our dishes. Squid ink is very beneficial for the health. It helps to reduce blood pressure, and boost the immune system. When food looks unusual, it has to come with some funky features! 😉

⠀ ⠀ ⠀ "Pick me up" Tiramisu was found during the 1960's. The most popular version is with Amaretto, but because we always do things different, we use Marsala instead.
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Homemade fettuccine pasta with homemade Pesto alla Genovese. ⠀ Pesto is a typical dish from Northern Italy, more specifically from Genova in Liguria.
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ The first origin of the Caprese salad is back from Italy during WWI. ⠀ A patriotic mason wanted to conceive a dish, that was a true representation of the country, by its products and it's colours, Green, White, Red
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ The pizzaiolo Raffaele Esposito from Pizzeria Brandi, started in 1890, created the famous "Pizza Margherita" as a tribute to an Italian Princess, Margherita of Savoy. ⠀ The ingredients, tomato sauce (red), mozzarella (white) and basil (green), represent the same colors of the italian flag.
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Just for fun and for a night, we gave our chefs the green card for experimenting funky italian dishes in the kitchen. ⠀ That brought us some fantastic feedbacks from the guests, and a lovely evening where everyone could share every dish, Italian Style, where everyone could enjoy each other's company

Our rustic room fit up to 40 persons and we have welcomed events such as
confirmations, weddings, company gatherings and more.
Are you interested to host an event at home? We can of course deliver food out,
but you can also receive Rafaels At Home for a day, to bring our atmosphere and food straight in your house.
Booking of events is done through emails,contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your ideas and wishes, we can establish together the most optimal solution. Remember, it's important to book in good times.

Rafaels is an italian restaurant located in Kolding's city center.

Before being a restaurant, Rafaels was an antic shop.
Our french headchef, Pierre took over the restaurant in 2018.
Since Pierre took over Rafaels, we have been working on building a cosy atmosphere and connection between the staff and the guests.
Our food is either local or imported directly from Italy, we conceive all our food from scratch, in order to offer the best possible food experience to our guests.
At Rafaels, we're a bit of some restaurant nerds, we constantly try to optimise our guests' experience, it can be finding new wine glasses, paint a wall, or conceive new funky dishes.
